When I accepted to create the portrait of Susanna commissioned by her son Sargiz, I couldn’t imagine the feelings this work would have created in me. I don’t know if tit was because I was painting the mother as a tribute from her son, or if simply her Armenian eyes connected me to the manhood and sweetness of this woman, but I know that I experienced it as a journey where an old vintage photo transforms through the glossy world of oils in the imprinting of an energy so deep, so maternal, so loving that I will keep it in me forever… Thank you Sargiz for this opportunity… ❤
